We are pleased to invite you to the Partners in the Horn of Africa 2016 Annual General Meeting and Ethiopian dinner on Thursday, May 26th at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral Auditorium, 154 East 10th Avenue in Vancouver. We’ll gather for drinks and social time at 5:30 pm and the AGM will commence at 6:30 pm.
Tickets are $30 each, payable by credit card or cheque made out to Friends of the Horn of Africa. Tickets should be ordered in advance by May 1st so we can confirm numbers and send tickets and name badges.
A traditional Ethiopian Dinner will be served; don’t worry there will be an array of foods rating in spiciness for those of us who can’t handle the heat! There will be a guest speaker, sharing pictures and stories of their travel to our projects in Ethiopia. We will be having a silent auction, where you will have the opportunity to bid on authentic Ethiopian items such as scarves and shirts.
We will also have a Traditional Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony, which is one of the most recognizable parts of Ethiopian culture. Did you know that the original native (undomesticated) population of coffee is thought to have come from Ethiopia?
The evening should be an inspiring, informative and fun affair, with the opportunity to meet others who believe in our mission.
As you may already be aware the sister organization to Partners in the Horn of Africa is Friends of the Horn of Africa which supports all operations and administrative costs associated with Partners work, enables 100% of Partners donations to go directly towards our projects in Ethiopia.
